About 3.30pm on Sun­day, po­lice were called to the Mt Druitt Com­mu­nity Hub in Kelly Close fol­low­ing re­ports of an in­tox­i­cated male on the premises. When of­fi­cers ar­rived, they lo­cated a 60year-old man, who was heav­ily in­tox­i­cated and a num­ber of empty wine bot­tles were in the vicin­ity. The Auburn man was iden­ti­fied at the scene be­fore paramedics at­tended and took him to hospi­tal for treat­ment for a num­ber of mi­nor cuts and abra­sions.


Po­lice have charged a man with firearms of­fences fol­low­ing a short siege is Sydney’s west ear­lier this month. About 5.30pm on Wed­nes­day, Oc­to­ber 12, St Marys po­lice were called to a prop­erty in Silverdale, where a 64-year-old man had bar­ri­caded him­self into a shed, al­legedly armed with a shot­gun and am­mu­ni­tion. Po­lice ne­go­tia­tors and the Tac­ti­cal Oper­a­tions Unit es­tab­lished a perime­ter. Just be­fore 11pm, the man sur­ren­dered him­self to po­lice and firearms were seized. He was taken to Ne­pean Hospi­tal for as­sess­ment and was re­leased on Mon­day, Oc­to­ber 17. No one was in­jured dur­ing the in­ci­dent. On Tues­day, Oc­to­ber 18, the man at­tended St Marys po­lice sta­tion, where he was ar­rested and charged with firearm man­ner likely to in­jure per­son/prop­erty and us­ing a firearm while un­der the in­flu­ence of al­co­hol or a drug. The man will ap­pear at Pen­rith Lo­cal Court on Thurs­day, De­cem­ber 1.


Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing fol­low­ing the theft of food from a gro­cery store at Ropes Cross­ing on Sun­day. About 3.50pm, an un­known wo­man en­tered the store and re­moved a num­ber of food items be­fore leav­ing with­out pay­ing for the goods. Po­lice are cur­rently ex­am­in­ing CCTV and other ev­i­dence to iden­tify the wo­man who is only de­scribed as cau­casian. A man will face Mt Druitt Lo­cal Court on charges of break­ing and en­ter­ing af­ter he was ar­rested on Thurs­day. About 8.30am, po­lice ar­rested a Bidwill man fol­low­ing an in­ves­ti­ga­tion into a num­ber of break and en­ter of­fences over a three-month pe­riod. Of­fi­cers at­tended the Cu­pa­nia St ad­dress and ar­rested the 29-year-old be­fore he was con­veyed to Mt Druitt po­lice sta­tion and taken into cus­tody. Po­lice also re­cov­ered a large amount of prop­erty as a re­sult of the in­ves­ti­ga­tion worth in ex­cess of $16,000.


Mt Druitt po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing the theft of a bi­cy­cle from Emer­ton on Satur­day. About 1.30am, a 15-year-old Will­mot boy vis­ited a ser­vice sta­tion at Emer­ton. He parked his bi­cy­cle out­side be­fore en­ter­ing the store to pur­chase items. When he re­turned a few min­utes later, he found his bi­cy­cle had been stolen.


Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing a ve­hi­cle fire at Bidwill on Sun­day morn­ing. About 12.45am, a 24-year-old Pine Cres wo­man woke to a loud bang from the front of her prop­erty. The wo­man got up and found her mo­tor ve­hi­cle well alight. She con­tacted po­lice and the fire bri­gade who at­tended and ex­tin­guished the fire a short time later.
