Mt Druitt po­lice have de­nied a High­way Pa­trol ve­hi­cle hit a cy­clist on Satur­day night, but said in­stead the cy­clist made con­tact with the back of the car. About 12.10am, po­lice spoke to a youth in Lux­ford Rd in re­la­tion to bike of­fences and is­sued him with sev­eral tick­ets. A wit­ness, who asked for her name to be with­held, said she heard the pa­trol car rev its en­gine be­fore hit­ting the teen. “The kid went fly­ing. There was a lady go­ing off her head at the po­lice,” the wo­man said. Mt Druitt crime man­ager De­tec­tive In­spec­tor Dave God­dard said he was un­aware of any in­jury as a re­sult of the in­ci­dent. “He im­pacted slightly with the back of the ve­hi­cle,” Insp God­dard said. “I’m not aware if was in­jured, but he was charged with sev­eral bi­cy­cle safety of­fences.”
