ABC TV is airing a 2013 documentary, Plumpton

High Babies: 10 Years On, which follows the lives of three former teen mums.

After spending a year filming three students in the Plumpton High School Young Mothers Program, run by then principal Glenn Sargeant, Aviva Ziegler directed the original 2003 documentary Plumpton High Babies.

The film documented how three mums – Simone, Jacinta and Baby – juggled impending motherhood and education and challenged the conventional method of dealing with teenage pregnancy.

The second documentary was created in 2013 to catch up with the three women and their families, to gauge if all the effort Mr Sargeant had devoted to their education had paid off.

The documentary ultimately presents the questions: Was it all worth it? And how do we judge success? Plumpton High Babies: 10 Years On will air on ABC at 9.20pm on Monday, November 28.
