THE $3.4 mil­lion Ropes Cross­ing Fire Sta­tion was of­fi­cially opened on Fri­day.

The for­mer Dun­heved fire sta­tion was re­lo­cated to the new site to im­prove emer­gency re­sponses and ca­pa­bil­ity.

“The new Ropes Cross­ing sta­tion, cou­pled with the re­lo­ca­tion of the Mt Druitt Fire Sta­tion, will en­sure bet­ter emer­gency re­sponse cov­er­age for com­mu­ni­ties through­out the grow­ing western Syd­ney area,” Emer­gency Ser­vices Min­is­ter David El­liott said.

Black­town Mayor Stephen Bali, David El­liott, Ropes Cross­ing Pub­lic School choir and staff, Lon­don­derry MP Prue Car and Fire & Res­cue NSW Com­mis­sioner Greg Mullins.
