ARRIVAL OF SANTA CAUSE FOR REVELRY

Mt Druitt - St Mary's Standard (East) - - NEWS - Marissa Georgopoulos

THOUSANDS of residents visited Plumpton Marketplace on Sunday to say hello to Santa Claus.

The man in red spent hours meeting children and posing for photos with them.

Santa swapped his sleigh for a ride on a Plumpton Rural Fire Service truck.

“It was amazing to see such a huge crowd,” marketing manager Lisa Mourga said. “There’s a strong community spirit in the Plumpton-Mt Druitt area and we’re proud to be a part of that ... it’s always a joy to see the excitement on children’s faces when they see Santa arrive.”

Youngsters had their faces painted, watched Glendenning’s Static Dance troupe and met Fireman Sam.

The shopping centre will hold a Breakfast With Santa on December 10, for children aged 4-10, with proceeds going to the children’s ward at Mt Druitt Hospital. Details: visit plumpton marketplace.com.au
