KALE: A rich source of nu­tri­ents, this crinkly leafed green is great in sal­ads and blends. Strip leaves from the stems and chop, then toss in a hot pan with olive oil, crushed gar­lic, chopped red chill­ies and cur­rants. Heat un­til leaves wilt then serve. Price: $3-$5 a bunch.
