CHRISTMAS ‘TIS THE SEASON TO BE ENTERTAINED
Deck the halls and celebrate the festive season when Sydney Christmas kicks off this weekend. The month-long celebration in the lead-up to Christmas features a program packed with free and fun activities. Santa will arrive in a cycle-driven sleigh and light Sydney’s most majestic Martin Place Christmas tree on Saturday night. Choirs will perform at the Martin Place Christmas tree every night and in Pitt Street Mall on Thursday evenings. Visitors can join in the fun by jumping in the life-size Lego Christmas sleigh at Martin Place for the ultimate Christmas snap. Created by Lego certified professional, Ryan McNaught, the sleigh is made with more than 10,000 Lego bricks. You can also walk through the Boulevard of Light in Pitt Street Mall with a 62,000 light canopy twinkling overhead and Christmas trees lining the mall. But the fun doesn’t stop in the CBD. You can pop along to a free village Christmas concert at Rushcutters Bay (Saturday, December 3), Rosebery (Sunday, December 4), Alexandria (Saturday, December 10) and Surry Hills (Sunday, December 11). This is a great way to support a worthy cause – Guide Dogs NSW/ ACT (which is part of the Sydney City organised events).
