IF YOU have an eye for decor, a flair for colour and dream of styling homes, then a ca­reer in in­te­rior de­sign and dec­o­rat­ing could be the right fit.

At Syd­ney TAFE De­sign Cen­tre En­more, a com­pre­hen­sive set of cour­ses are of­fered in in­te­rior de­sign and dec­o­rat­ing in­clud­ing a Cert IV to a di­ploma fol­lowed by an ad­vanced di­ploma and a bach­e­lor de­gree.

Teacher An­nal­isa Ca­purro says the en­tire pro­gram is de­signed to pre­pare stu­dents for a ca­reer in the de­sign in­dus­try in­clud­ing com­mer­cial, hos­pi­tal­ity and re­tail, res­i­den­tial de­sign and dec­o­ra­tion, mag­a­zine and real es­tate styling, colour con­sult­ing and work­ing in de­sign show­rooms.

To work in this field you need to have ex­cel­lent visual and ver­bal skills, think out­side the box, be cre­ative and a prob­lem solver.

Creativ­ity is the name of the game in the world of in­te­rior de­sign­ing and dec­o­rat­ing.
