PEACHES: Tuck into some peaches during the Australian summer season from late November until April. Like any fruit, peaches should feel heavy for their size. Can’t eat all the peaches quickly enough? Freeze them. Frozen peaches are fabulous in baked goods, smoothies and ice cream. Price: about $5.40/kg WATERMELON: Chilled watermelon wedges make the ultimate thirst quencher on hot days. Choose cut seedless watermelon with an even colour. Team with rocket, feta, and black olives for a refreshing summer salad. Price: about $2.20/kg

RASPBERRIES: Enjoy raw or cooked. Add to cereal, muesli or waffles. Stir through jellies, puddings, fruit or green salads or in drinks. Puree to make sherbet, smoothies, iceblocks or dressing. Bake into crumbles, breads, cakes, tarts or muffins. Price: About $5/punnet
