FALLS Creek Resort Management (FCRM) unveiled the updated and amended Falls Creek Village Master Plan 2014, in April.

FCRM interim CEO Mark Hubbard said the plan has been designed to increase year-round visitation, maximise utilisation of existing accommodation and improved the overall commercial viability of the whole resort.

The Master Plan was prepared after the release of the Alpine Resorts Strategic Plan 2012, which required the major Victorian alpine resorts to prepare master plans that outlined a clear direction for a sustainable and viable future.

Over 4000 stakeholders, business operators, resort partners, club lodge members, investors and visitors became involved in the Master Plan process during June and September last year and the plan put on public exhibition in November 2014.

According to Mr Hubbard, feedback was received from stakeholders, including visitors, commercial operators, Falls Creek Lift Company, Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning and others.

“Major amendments made to the plan include modification of the Village Loop transportation scheme, dealing with native vegetation offset requirements and emergency management.”
