Ighest ever land auction for Mt otham
RECORDS are set to be broken next month when Castran Real Estate holds the highest freehold land auction in Australian history.
The auction will be a once in a lifetime opportunity for individuals to own prime land in the centre of the picturesque Mt Hotham resort village.
Last year on Easter Saturday one lucky buyer bought a block of leasehold land at the resort at a no-reserve auction for just $14,000 while the sale of a second leasehold block at $18,000 were the cheapest on the mountain in 35 years.
Prices aren’t going to be that low this time round but managing director of Castran Real Estate John Castran said some of the most affordable freehold and leasehold land will be available.
“This is the largest auction ever held of freehold and leasehold land and the most significant land auction ever held across the Australian Alps,” Mr Castran said.
“Mt Hotham is the only mountain in Australia where you can buy vacant allotments and the only place in the southern hemisphere where you can buy freehold at altitude.
“Reserves start at $100,000 and with an extended 12-month settlement this should be a bonanza for individuals and families wanting to take advantage of buying in this premier location.”
Currently owned by Mount Hotham Skiing Company, on offer will be 21 freehold and leasehold vacant land allotments located on Hotplate Drive and Lawlers Court.
The auction will be held at The Olsen at 637 Chapel St in South Yarra on Thursday, September 7, from 12pm.
ON THE HAMMER: Twenty-one freehold and leasehold vacant land allotments at Mt Hotham will be auctioned next month.
