Reception space in heart of Wangaratta

Myrtleford Times - - Wedding Guide -

IN the eight years since it opened in 2009, many have experienced Wangaratta Performing Arts Centre (WPAC) as a versatile and diverse performance, event and conference space.

What is not is well known is that, for all this time, the venue’s memorial hall has long been a popular space for wedding receptions.

The contemporary, modern space boasts immaculate polished floorboards and can be set up to suit many different styles of reception, from an intimate gathering of around 50 people to a large celebration seating 250.

WPAC’s Elisha Naish said that the centre’s hardworking team can decorate and set up the space in a number of different ways, and table layouts can be traditional round tables or long trestle tables with banquet seating.

Hirers can decorate to their own theme, and those wanting to lend multimedia elements or special lighting designs to their special day can discuss their needs with the staff.

Catering can also be handled onsite by the staff at Intermezzo Café.

Mrs Naish said those looking to hold a reception at the hall can expect continuity of service, dealing with the same person throughout the planning stages until the big day.

She added that WPAC continues to be popular as a central venue because of its spacious, lightfilled foyer, picturesque surrounds and central Wangaratta location – close to many churches, parks and accommodation options.

Cocktail receptions can be held in the foyer or adjoining grass area, or the grass area could even be booked for an intimate ceremony if need be.

While dealing with a range of different vendors during wedding planning can be stressful, Ms Barry said WPAC has a solid working relationship with a range of external hirers in Wangaratta and could help make wedding planning a snap.

She added that they are all too happy to recommend local accommodation or vendors themselves.

For those receptions featuring guests with disabilities or mobility issues, the venue, and the reception area itself, features ramp access.
