NDIS launched in Ovens Mur­ray re­gion this week

MORE than 2700 peo­ple with a dis­abil­ity have be­gun to tran­si­tion to the Na­tional Dis­abil­ity In­sur­ance Scheme (NDIS) which has of­fi­cially com­menced in the Ovens Mur­ray re­gion.

La­trobe Com­mu­nity Health Ser­vice – the main part­ner of the NDIS in Ovens Mur­ray – has marked the oc­ca­sion by open­ing a new of­fice in Wan­garatta today, at 90-100 Ovens Street.

As a lo­cal area co­or­di­na­tor for the Na­tional Dis­abil­ity In­sur­ance Agency (NDIA) La­trobe Com­mu­nity Health Ser­vice’s role is to work along­side peo­ple with a dis­abil­ity, their fam­i­lies and car­ers to plan the mix of sup­ports that will al­low them to meet their goals and as­pi­ra­tions through the NDIS.
