WANGARATTA Police Inspector Kerrie Hicks has praised the initiative of Communities That Care Alpine, an organisation which last Wednesday released its community action plan to reduce adolescent alcohol use in Alpine Shire.

With the launch of an Alcohol and Drug Foundation Local Drug Action Team, CTCA will we aim to cut adolescent alcohol use across the shire through programs for young people and their parents.

“The Alpine LDAT is an impressive group of people with a shared goal to reduce drug and alcohol harm in our community,” Inspector Hicks said.

“It’s a progressive and collaborative group of people with demonstrated success through other programs, especially in relation to reducing rates of youth suicide.
