Rose­white open gar­den ben­e­fits La­cluta Friends

ROSE­WHITE’S Noela Dawes and Micheal Freuden­stein have this year cho­sen Myrtle­ford’s Friends of La­cluta or­gan­i­sa­tion as the ben­e­fi­ciary of pro­ceeds from the cou­ple’s three-week­end spring open gar­den sea­son.

The Friends sup­port com­mu­ni­ties in the re­mote Ti­mor Leste district of La­cluta, south east of the is­land na­tion’s cap­i­tal, Dili, and par­tic­u­larly aid ed­u­ca­tion and food sus­tain­abil­ity projects.

The Dawes-Freuden­stein gar­den at The Homestead Es­tate, at 713 Happy Val­ley Road, will again be open this week­end (Oc­to­ber 28-29) and Novem­ber 4-5 from 10m to 4pm.

The cou­ple is also host­ing tours of the his­toric farm­house at 11am, 1pm and 3pm on each open day. It was built in 1869 and was the first homestead in Happy Val­ley at Rose­white.
