Fol­lett, Thoma­son named Bright’s best for 2018

RUNE Fol­lett and Tyler Thoma­son have taken out top hon­ours in the Bright Ju­nior Foot­ball Club’s best and fairest count held two weeks ago.

Fol­lett took his game to an­other level in his sec­ond year of un­der 14s foot­ball and was con­sis­tently among Bright’s best play­ers help­ing his side to five wins in 2018 af­ter a win­less sea­son the year be­fore.

Thoma­son starred in his first sea­son of foot­ball be­ing named in the best play­ers for Bright’s un­der 12s in all but three matches while also lead­ing the teams goal kick­ing with 12 ma­jors play­ing pre­dom­i­nately mid­field.

The un­der 12s won three games this past sea­son.

Other un­der 14 award win­ners were Saxon Rosser (R/U B&F), Cop­per Thoma­son (most con­sis­tent), Jake Hood (most coura­geous), Jack Banks (best de­fender), Harry He­witt (best first year player), Mikka Paulsen (most im­proved), Will Red­den (best club­man) and Luke Nan­nip­ieri (coaches award).

Un­der 12s player re­ceiv­ing awards were Jack­son He­witt (R/U B&F), Yan­nick Paulsen (most con­sis­tent), Tom Gray (most coura­geous), Bryce Fuller­ton (best de­fender), Ste­fan Barnard (best first year player), Lachie Rosser (most im­proved), Ryan Alexan­der (best club­man & coaches award).
