Keen competitors battle winter conditions
A good field of 30 braved the wintry conditions to compete in the Presidents Cup, sponsored by Dawson’s Funeral Home, at Narrogin last Saturday.
Brett Coxon’s even par 72-4-68 was enough to secure victory by a shot from Russell Cowcher and Barry Harris on 69 nett, with Les Gambrell, Gary Weston, Terry Wilkins and Gary Sobey all on 71.
Congratulations to Ian Edwards (7) and Brett Coxon (12) who both scored Eagles.
Other novelties went to Joe Wnuk, Ronnie Coppock, Brett Coxon and Eric Hall.
Shirley Everett claimed the Guardian Chemist Stableford trophy for the ladies with 37 points from Simone Lockyer (36) and Carol Hardie (35).
Sunday’s Home Hardware Trophy was won by Terry Wilkins with 37 points from Kimball Derbyshire and Shane Thornton.
Next week sees the charity events continue with the Legacy Day Ambrose on Saturday followed by the Fred Spanswick Monthly Mug Qualifying Eclectic on Sunday.
