Keen com­peti­tors bat­tle win­ter con­di­tions

A good field of 30 braved the win­try con­di­tions to com­pete in the Pres­i­dents Cup, spon­sored by Daw­son’s Funeral Home, at Nar­ro­gin last Satur­day.

Brett Coxon’s even par 72-4-68 was enough to se­cure vic­tory by a shot from Rus­sell Cowcher and Barry Har­ris on 69 nett, with Les Gam­brell, Gary We­ston, Terry Wilkins and Gary Sobey all on 71.

Con­grat­u­la­tions to Ian Ed­wards (7) and Brett Coxon (12) who both scored Ea­gles.

Other nov­el­ties went to Joe Wnuk, Ron­nie Cop­pock, Brett Coxon and Eric Hall.

Shirley Everett claimed the Guardian Chemist Stable­ford tro­phy for the ladies with 37 points from Si­mone Lock­yer (36) and Carol Hardie (35).

Sun­day’s Home Hard­ware Tro­phy was won by Terry Wilkins with 37 points from Kim­ball Der­byshire and Shane Thorn­ton.

Next week sees the char­ity events con­tinue with the Legacy Day Am­brose on Satur­day fol­lowed by the Fred Span­swick Monthly Mug Qual­i­fy­ing Eclec­tic on Sun­day.
