Triple M went Live for 25 last week to raise money for Give Me 5 for Kids.

Breakfast announcer Allan Aldworth was live from 5.30am last Wednesday to 9am last Thursday as part of a fundraiser for Southern Cross Austereo’s charity.

This fundraiser comes just a week after the highly successful women’s footy night the radio station hosted at Clayton Road Oval.

Aldworth said he became delirious several times during the live broadcast, but was determined to push through.

“Around 4pm in the afternoon, I became pretty tired and I thought ‘ damn, it’s only 4pm!’,” he said.

“I just had to keep making goals to get myself through.

“9pm was the next goal; I just have to make it to 9pm and then keep going.”

Triple M raised $1900 from sponsors and the station raised even more in cash donations as it broadcast live from Narrogin Fruit Market on Thursday, from 8-9am.

Aldworth said it was hard work but worth it for a great cause.

“It went really well, and as corny as it sounds, it made my heart feel full afterwards,” he said.

“It was so awesome for the whole community to get around something, especially for a good charity like Give Me 5 for Kids.”

Give Me 5 for Kids is a national fundraiser for children’s hospital wards across regional Australia.
