Five schools con­test car­ni­val

The Nar­ro­gin and dis­tricts win­ter in­ter­school car­ni­val was held last week with five schools com­pet­ing.

St Matthew’s, Nar­ro­gin Pri­mary, East Nar­ro­gin Pri­mary, Wil­liams Pri­mary and Wick­epin/ Wan­der­ing/Yeal­er­ing all fielded teams as events were held at the Nar­ro­gin Re­gional Leisure Cen­tre, hockey turf and Clay­ton Road Oval.

The schools com­peted in foot­ball, soc­cer, hockey and net­ball.

Nar­ro­gin Pri­mary took out first place in foot­ball, fol­lowed by East Nar­ro­gin and St Matthew’s, and St Matthew’s 1 won the soc­cer with St Matthew’s 2 in sec­ond place and Wick­epin/Wan­der­ing/Yeal­er­ing 2 in third.

Nar­ro­gin Pri­mary won the hockey, East Nar­ro­gin came in sec­ond and Nar­ro­gin Pri­mary 2 took third place.

In A-grade net­ball East Nar­ro­gin won with Nar­ro­gin Pri­mary 1 sec­ond and St Matthew’s third.

Nar­ro­gin Pri­mary 2 took out the B-grade. Nar­ro­gin Pri­mary 3 was sec­ond and Wick­epin/Wan­der­ing/ Yeal­er­ing 1 came home third.

In C-grade, East Nar­ro­gin won with Nar­ro­gin Pri­mary 4 in sec­ond and Nar­ro­gin Pri­mary 5 in third.

Wilson Dowl­ing from East Nar­ro­gin Pri­mary School helped his team into sec­ond place in the hockey.
