Quiz night hoped to raise $5000 for Project Num­bat

Project Num­bat is only $5000 away from fully fund­ing a gi­ant fi­bre­glass num­bat which will be in­stalled in the re­de­vel­oped Li­ons Park in Wil­liams.

The project needs $46,000 to fully fund the con­struc­tion of the num­bat and with a $20,000 share of the re­cently an­nounced $360,000 Build­ing Bet­ter Re­gions fund­ing go­ing straight to the num­bat, the re­main­ing $5000 will hope­fully be raised at an up­com­ing quiz night.

Project Num­bat is hold­ing a quiz night in Oc­to­ber to fundraise for the re­main­ing $5000, and lo­cal busi­nesses in­clud­ing Down­derry Wines, Belvedere Nurs­ery and Rus­tic Rain­bow Cafe have as­sisted with prizes and silent auc­tion items.

The main prize on of­fer at the quiz night is up to two nights’ ac­com­mo­da­tion at Pos­sum House in Duns­bor­ough for up to eight peo­ple.

The quiz night will be held at the Wil­liams Bowl­ing Club on Satur­day, Oc­to­ber 7 from 6pm-9pm. Tick­ets are $90 a team of six and tick­ets can be pur­chased on­line at num­bat.org.au.

There are plans to build a num­bat statue in Wil­liams to hon­our the pop­u­la­tion at nearby Dryan­dra Wood­land.
