Daw­son tames the con­di­tions

Sport­spower Nar­ro­gin spon­sored the Cor­ri­gan Cup on Satur­day and it was great to see a good field in at­ten­dance de­spite the in­clement weather.

Gra­ham Daw­son found the con­di­tions to his lik­ing, shoot­ing 36 points to win the event from Gary Sobey and Kim Der­byshire on 35, with Craig Allinson a shot fur­ther back on 34.

Novel­ties went to Rus­sell Cowcher, Gary Sobey, Ken Short and Gra­ham Doust.

The ladies played for the Ruth Har- die me­mo­rial plate and, judg­ing by the scores, con­di­tions were tough for the red tee par­tic­i­pants.

Daphne Ni­cholas han­dled the con­di­tions best to win the net, while Shirley Everett claimed the best gross.

Sun­day’s sweep­stake par round saw Fred­er­ick Les Chitty win on +2 from Shane Thorn­ton +1 and Richard Chad­wick in third with -2.

Next week is a sweep­stake round on Satur­day be­cause of the Cuballing Open 4BBB and Sun­day is the cap­tain and vice-cap­tain’s monthly mugs, which are qual­i­fy­ing and eclec­tic rounds.
