Andrew Pratt and Sarah HennesseyParks retained their titles in the 2017 Narrogin Squash Club Championships.

Commanding performances by both players lengthened their longterm stays on the Squash Honour Board. Pratt was challenged by a determined Simon Dare in the final, but his ability to deal with Dare’s hard drives with cut-off volleys meant Dare was often in retrieval mode and unable to make all shots as tight as he would have liked. Pratt took out the title 9-2, 9-6, 9-4.

The ladies event was a match-up between established player Hennessey- Parks and emerging talent Michaela Pratt. Hennessey-Parks’ heavier hitting and greater steadiness were able to overcome Pratt’s persistence and she won 9-2, 9-4, 9-6.

Hugh Sharpe and Charles Naude faced off in the B-grade final. Naude looked set to win the game before a series of good drop shots from Sharpe allowed him to recover from a difficult position to win 10-8, and go on to take the match 9-3, 10-8, 9-4

The A-division final went to Brennan Pratt against Geoff Hann, 9-2, 9-4, 9-4. The C division winner was Declin Mumby. Plate winners were Aaron Cook (open), Alyce Smith (ladies), Ryan Moldrich (A), Mtchell Milton (B) and Leslie Yong (C).
