Academy passes on higher skills

Last Satur­day Nar­ro­gin Ju­nior Bas­ket­ball had the WA Bas­ket­ball Academy in town to con­duct skills ses­sions with our ju­niors.

Fran­cis Cran­shaw was the head coach for the day and there were three dif­fer­ent ses­sion for un­der-12s, un­der-14s and un­der-18s with a to­tal 66 play­ers tak­ing part.

They were shown a va­ri­ety of skills to de­velop their bas­ket­ball to a higher level in­clud­ing in­ten­sive drills re­lated to lay-ups, shoot­ing and de­fen­sive work.

The Nar­ro­gin Ju­nior Bas­ket­ball As­so­ci­a­tion is work­ing to­wards de­vel­op­ing a bas­ket­ball academy in Nar­ro­gin for 16 to 18-year-olds this year which will be done with help from the WA Bas­ket­ball Academy with hopes to de­velop it fur­ther to al­low all ages to join the pro­gram in fu­ture years.
