Harrismith’s Miller unstoppable in A-grade with 129 not out

Narrogin Observer - - Sport - Laura Grubisa

Towns travelled to Harrismith for their second round A-grade game but were not able to beat the home side, who won by 141 runs.

Harrismith won the toss and elected to bat first, with Matthew Orchard and Scott Bayley making 44 and 20 runs.

Jamie Miller was Harrismith’s best batsman as he ended on 129 not out, easily helping his team to declare on 5-287.

Towns seemed to struggle from the outset as Cam Allison was sent packing without getting a run on the board, and Liam Sweeney was unable to back up his B-grade performance last week as he was also sent packing on 0.

Aaron Offer made 42 runs and Perrin Quartermaine had 33, but the Narrogin side were all out on 146 runs and handed Harrismith a 141-run win.

In the B-grade, Towns took on Wagin but were unable to get a win on the board.

Ruben Scheepers made 30 runs for the Narrogin side and Kaleb Hart had 13, but the rebuilding side struggled to get runs on the board and were all out for 85.

Wagin took advantage of this and got an easy 3-86 win with Drew McAuliffe and Dwight Kellow ending on 27 and 23 not out.
