Narrogin Observer - - News - Michael Traill

Past members of the Narrogin Railways Football Club reunited last Saturday night at the Eagles sporting club.

Among the crowded clubrooms were members of the Railways’ 1972 and 1978 premiership side.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of Railways’ last premiership.

A founding club of the Upper Great Southern Football League in 1959, Railways became the Narrogin Eagles in 1993.

They then merged with rival founding club, Narrogin Lions (Narrogin Towns) in 2004 to become today’s Narrogin Hawks.

Members of the old club shared stories of their time playing in both Railways and Eagles jumpers.

Woggy Ewen, John Chalmers, Norm and Diane Sims, Michelle Ewen, Paul and Janet Hughes.
