Pingelly advance to grand final
Pingelly have secured their place in this year’s Narrogin and Districts Netball Association A1 grand final after a thrilling win over Wagin last Saturday.
Pingelly got out to a comfortable nine-goal lead at half-time, but Wagin worked themselves back into the match after the main break.
Wagin outscored Pingelly 26-21 in the second half, but fell four goals short at the end of play, with Pingelly prevailing 47-43.
Alex Ferns and Sheree Blechynden were Pingelly’s best for the match, while Felice Crisp and Ata Elliot impressed for Wagin.
Williams will take on Wagin next week after their convincing victory over Wickepin.
Williams held a single goal lead against the Warriors at half-time, but blew the game open to a 57-40 win in the end.
Lauren Schutz and Claire Hardie made noticeable appearances for Williams, as Kelly Steere and Carly Smith led Wickepin.
In A2 division 1, Olympics Turquoise’s 10-3 second quarter pushed them out to a 17-15 advantage over Pingelly at half-time. The match went into overtime with the score 34-all at full-time.
Turquoise finally secured a 45-42 victory in overtime to progress to the division’s grand final.
Pingelly will face Wagin next weekend, after their tight 46-42 victory against Wickepin Red in the A2/1 elimination final.
