Narrogin link to baby boy deceased in Perth’s Golden Bay
Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the death of a baby boy in Golden Bay, who was allegedly the subject of an assault in Narrogin last year.
According to police the one-yearold boy who died on Sunday in the southern Perth suburb is the same baby who was allegedly subjected to an assault in Narrogin in October last year.
A man from Mandurah was charged with grievous bodily harm over the alleged attack last year after baby Nathaniel was taken to Narrogin Regional Hospital with injuries.
On that occasion he was transferred to Princess Margaret Hospital and later released.
At that time, the baby suffered catastrophic head injuries at just seven weeks old. The baby’s mother told the Ob
server in January this year Nathaniel had survived despite warnings from doctors that he may die from the injuries.
Police said investigations into the death were ongoing and would not reveal whether or not the death was in any way linked to the previous allegations.
No arrests or charges have been made at this stage.
