The Astro SDK is just one piece of the puzzle we’re building at Mobify. Astro’s main aim – to enable users to build apps in a way that is maintainable and doesn’t make you repeat yourself – is a subset of a much larger challenge in the commerce space. As consumer technologies improve rapidly, and new technologies pop up, consumers expect to be able to engage with their favourite brands using them. Today, it’s harder than ever for commerce companies to compete with Amazon or Walmart’s agility when it comes to creating engaging customer experiences.
Our phones, more than any other device, are personal. When we interact with brands digitally through our phones, whether on the web, in apps, in a chat or by any other means, we expect those brands will remember who we are and content will be personalised and relevant to us. This means the technology built for each platform must be tightly integrated in order to provide a holistic view of the consumer. Without that, it’s impossible to deliver consumers a tailored, personalised experience.
At Mobify, we’re working towards building a Customer Engagement Platform. This will be an end-to-end solution for helping commerce businesses engage with their customers by building fantastic web and native apps. It is tightly integrated with our analytics backend (the Engagement Engine), which powers our developer tools that marketers use to generate personalised website content and push notifications. In the future, as they become more popular, we will also help our customers manage the complexity of chat commerce, and integrate with other exciting new technologies such as augmented reality.
