The Astro SDK is just one piece of the puz­zle we’re build­ing at Mob­ify. Astro’s main aim – to en­able users to build apps in a way that is main­tain­able and doesn’t make you re­peat your­self – is a sub­set of a much larger chal­lenge in the com­merce space. As con­sumer tech­nolo­gies im­prove rapidly, and new tech­nolo­gies pop up, con­sumers ex­pect to be able to en­gage with their favourite brands us­ing them. To­day, it’s harder than ever for com­merce com­pa­nies to com­pete with Ama­zon or Wal­mart’s agility when it comes to cre­at­ing en­gag­ing cus­tomer ex­pe­ri­ences.

Our phones, more than any other de­vice, are per­sonal. When we in­ter­act with brands dig­i­tally through our phones, whether on the web, in apps, in a chat or by any other means, we ex­pect those brands will re­mem­ber who we are and con­tent will be per­son­alised and rel­e­vant to us. This means the tech­nol­ogy built for each plat­form must be tightly in­te­grated in or­der to pro­vide a holis­tic view of the con­sumer. With­out that, it’s im­pos­si­ble to de­liver con­sumers a tai­lored, per­son­alised ex­pe­ri­ence.

At Mob­ify, we’re work­ing towards build­ing a Cus­tomer En­gage­ment Plat­form. This will be an end-to-end so­lu­tion for help­ing com­merce busi­nesses en­gage with their cus­tomers by build­ing fan­tas­tic web and na­tive apps. It is tightly in­te­grated with our an­a­lyt­ics back­end (the En­gage­ment En­gine), which pow­ers our de­vel­oper tools that mar­keters use to gen­er­ate per­son­alised web­site con­tent and push no­ti­fi­ca­tions. In the fu­ture, as they be­come more pop­u­lar, we will also help our cus­tomers man­age the com­plex­ity of chat com­merce, and in­te­grate with other ex­cit­ing new tech­nolo­gies such as aug­mented re­al­ity.
