Prifti wrote that his pho­to­graphic as­sem­blages are in­formed by the for­ma­tive el­e­ments that shaped his life: re­la­tion­ships, mem­o­ries, rites of pas­sage, ag­ing and death. These psy­cho­log­i­cally com­plex im­ages are in part due to a pho­to­graphic process he em­ployed shoot­ing with large-for­mat wet-plate col­lo­dion emul­sions on glass. A tech­nique very fa­mil­iar to 19th cen­tury pho­to­graphs. His work is in per­ma­nent col­lec­tions of the Mu­seum of Mod­ern Art, the Mu­seum of Fine Arts in Hous­ton and the Decor­dova Mu­seum, to name only a few.
