They’re the pictures he hoped would never resurface, but now we can reveal the never-before-seen school photograph of Keith Urban that proves just how much his face has changed.
In the 1982 image exclusively obtained by New Idea, Keith is almost unrecognisable compared with the primped, preened singer seen on red carpets today.
After inspecting the retro image of the country crooner as a teenager in Year 10 at Queensland’s Caboolture State High School, experts agree that a nose job and painful teeth ‘filing’ have completely changed his face.
Gone is the emaciated and ravaged face of his drug-fuelled younger years, with two leading Hollywood plastic surgeons confirming that the 49-year-old appears to have followed his wife Nicole Kidman’s lead and gone under the knife to keep himself looking youthful – despite his history of more than a decade of drug abuse.

Aside from the shockingly noticeable rhinoplasty – Keith’s nose appearing much thinner than in his photo at age 15 – Detroit-based surgeon Dr Anthony Youn, who hasn’t treated the star, tells us it’s obvious he’s had fillers injected into his cheeks.
‘If you look at his cheek contour, you can tell it’s fuller and rounder,’ he says, adding that usually, as people get older, cheeks ‘become more skeletal’.
Keith now appears much younger than he did in the ’90s, at the height of his cocaine and ecstasy addiction.
‘This is a subtle enhancement and done very well. He may well have had some Botox around his forehead and eyes,’ Dr Youn explains, but warns: ‘Too much Botox could worsen his extra upper eyelid skin.’
Meanwhile, La-based cosmetic surgeon Dr Stephen Grifka, who also has no affiliation with the singer, adds: ‘It definitely appears he’s had something done to his nose. It looks thinner, and the tip is more refined.’
Both surgeons agree Keith’s Nicole has revealed Keith was ‘devastated’ when he saw the injuries that were inflicted on her while filming violent scenes for her TV show Big Little Lies.
Of the brutal scenes filmed with Alexander Skarsgard, in which she portrays an abused wife, Nicole confessed to Vogue: ‘At one point, Keith was like: “I’m going to take a photo of your back because it’s covered in deep, massive bruises.”

‘His teeth look better than they did when he was an adolescent, they’re very white. He may have had veneers or bonding to fill those gaps. The teeth have all been filed down so they match.’
Keith’s wife of 10 years has long been accused of secretly undergoing thousands of dollars worth of cosmetic surgery, He was devastated seeing it, but then he would say: “But I have an artist wife!”’
It often wasn’t until she got home that the mum-of-four saw just how bad her bruises were.
‘I didn’t realise how much of it penetrated me. I would go home at night sometimes and be in a lot of pain, and I had to take things like Advil because I was being thrown around physically. I was really bruised,’ Nicole admitted.

In fact, at the Country Music Festival in Nashville last year, many commentators speculated Keith and Nicole, 49, had opted for a couples ‘freshen-up’, before appearing on the event’s red carpet looking line-free.
