With hit single Read My Lips and a starring role on popular ’90s soap E Street, Melissa Tkautz was a household name more than 20 years ago – but now she’s ready to show Australia the real Melissa.

‘The whole reason I did this show is that I want people to see the real me. I don’t want to stir the pot. I’m not a troublemaker,’ the petite blonde explains.

‘People think because I’m on TV I’m stuck-up, reserved and a bit stuffy. I’m actually the complete opposite. I love being in front of a camera because I love acting, not because I want to be famous.’

But something you won’t see on the show is Melissa’s husband of eight years, Kwesi Nicholas.

‘No, he’s not going to be on the show,’ the 43-year-old reveals. ‘It’s not his world.’ But she admits that she may be able to talk him into it.

‘Maybe [for the second season]. He’s a bit shy, but never say never!’
