A much healthier-looking Matthew Newton has made a rare public appearance to promote new film From Nowhere, which he directed and co-wrote.

The troubled star, 40, got engaged to Catherine Schneiderman late last year and seems happier than ever, even hanging out with his future father-in-law New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman.
