Pink has un­veiled her se­cret weapon as she works to lose 15kg for her hugely an­tic­i­pated world tour – and it only costs $5!

The singer has re­vealed that she’s in­cor­po­rated re­sis­tance bands into her regime, lov­ing that the bud­get workout tool – which costs just a few dol­lars from Kmart – can be used any­where, any time.

But while the mum-of-two has long been known for her mus­cly and toned physique, she’s been more re­laxed about her workout and diet regime since wel­com­ing son Jame­son last De­cem­ber.

As a re­sult, she’s worked with celebrity trainer Jeanette Jenkins to make re­sis­tance band ex­er­cises – which can be done while her baby is sleep­ing at home – a cru­cial ad­di­tion to her rou­tine.

‘Pink might be known for hav­ing a six-pack, but these days she’s a lot more chilled out about her body and diet,’ says a close friend. ‘Of course she wants to be fit and in shape, but she’s not beat­ing her­self up about it.

‘She’s a mama now, she has a new baby and daugh­ter Wil­low – she doesn’t want any mum work­ing them­selves to the ground just to fit into their pre-baby jeans.

‘That’s why she loves re­sis­tance bands – she can do ex­er­cises while she’s watch­ing TV or while Jame­son is nap­ping. She can use them in the gym or at home, they fit in her hand­bag – it’s just a re­ally sim­ple and easy workout trick.

‘Pink thinks it’s re­ally rev­o­lu­tionised her whole ap­proach to ex­er­cise.’

The 38-year-old has spo­ken openly about the im­por­tance of not pres­sur­ing new mums to lose weight too quickly. Tak­ing to In­sta­gram in re­cent months, Pink posted the hash­tags ‘#slowand­steady win­s­ther­ace’ along­side one photo of her work­ing out, as well as ‘#feel­ingmy­self ’ and ‘#strongis­my­goal’ on an­other.

On one gym photo, the star hit out at harsh body stan­dards in an­other emo­tional post – call­ing on women to not be bul­lied about their bod­ies.

‘Would you be­lieve I’m 160 pounds [72kg]and 5’3” [160cm]? By “reg­u­lar stan­dards” that makes me obese,’ she wrote. ‘I know I’m not at my goal or any­where near it af­ter Baby 2 but dammit I don’t feel obese. The only thing I’m feel­ing is my­self. Stay off that scale ladies!’

While Pink is de­ter­mined to lose weight at her own pace, re­veal­ing she’d love to lose 15kg, she’s al­ready lost 7kg – and she cred­its her workout mind­set.

‘Pink loves that there’s no pres­sure on her to lose weight,’ says the source. ‘She’s half­way through her goal and is re­ally happy with the progress. She looks great, feels bet­ter – she’s never been hap­pier.’ NI
