Alarm was raised when she didn’t turn up at the Coles supermarket where she worked with her mum Hazel. Her naked body was eventually found in scrub at Tynong North.
ANNMARIE SARGENT, 18.
Left her mother’s Cranbourne home on October 6, 1980, to catch a bus to the Dandenong Commonwealth Employment Office. She never returned home.
BERTHA MILLER, 73.
Bertha was on her way to church when she vanished on August 10, 1980. She was supposed to catch a tram near her Glen Iris home to Prahran, but she never arrived. Her body was found at Tynong North.
ALLISON ROOKE, 59.
On May 30, 1980, Allison left home to catch a bus to the Frankston shops. Her body was found by a dog walker on July 5, 1980, in scrub near Skye Road in Frankston.
NARUMOL STEPHENSON, 34.
Narumol, originally from Thailand, had only lived in Australia for a year. She was abducted outside a friend’s house on November 29, 1980. In February 1983, her remains were found at Tynong North.
JOY CARMEL SUMMERS, 55.
Joy was last seen at a bus stop on October 9, 1981, in Frankston. On November 22 that same year, Joy’s remains were also discovered in a similar fashion to Allison Rooke – in scrub near Skye Road, Frankston.
