KARL TO BE A DAD AGAIN

tepping out with her husband Karl and mother-in-law Jenny, Jasmine Stefanovic looked downcast while doing a spot of grocery shopping last week.
Wearing a flowy dress and struggling to crack a smile, onlookers say the 35-year-old shoe designer seemed to be hiding what appeared to be a “baby bump” while standing at the check-out.
“She definitely looked pregnant,” says a fellow shopper.
“But she also looked miserable and kept ahead of Karl and her mother-in-law when they left and hardly said a word to them the whole time.”
The trio’s recent day out in Port Douglas comes as an industry insider reveals to New Idea the Nine Network’s plans to reduce Karl’s salary now that he no longer fronts Today.
“Karl is absolutely furious,” reveals our source.
“His only commitment this year is This Time Next Year and even that’s now up in the air because they are battling about the pay.”
And, according to our insider, the father-of-three, who has been holidaying in the Sunshine State with family since being dumped from the breakfast program in December last year, is refusing to return to work until the matter is resolved.
“He is not pitching any ideas to the network on what he can do next and no 60 Minutes stories. He is furious and is ready to walk away completely.”
However, with a baby believed to be on the way, Karl’s battle over salary couldn’t come at a worse time for the couple. Particularly for Jas, who is feeling the strain and pressure of being with one of Australia’s most controversial TV stars to date.
In fact, Jasmine is said to be “extremely frustrated” and is keen to put the controversy behind them once and
for all and focus purely on starting a family.
“While they’ve always tried to put on a united front, it hasn’t always been easy for the couple and Jas really wants a fresh start,” reveals a friend.
“She wants something to look forward to and knows a baby will bring everyone back together again.”
Making it a priority to focus on their relationship after a disastrous start to their union, New Idea understands that the pair decided the new year was the perfect time to expand their family.
Having faced difficulties with his three children, Jackson, Ava and River, who boycotted his recent star-studded wedding despite staying at the same hotel in Mexico, Karl is hoping that a new member of the brood will help mend their fractured relationship.
“They’re hoping everything will eventually work out because Jas is ready to take the next step.
“They have a house, Jas has already planned the perfect nursery and got a dog. She’s ready to settle into domesticity and this whole thing with Karl was not expected.”
