ew Zealand entrants will be among Australasi­a’s homage to everything exotic and historic in the automotive arena at this year’s Motorclass­ica, which will once again be held in the traditiona­l setting of Melbourne’s prestigiou­s Royal Exhibition Building from October 21 to 23, 2016.

“New Zealand is home to a large number of significan­t, rare, valuable, and historical­ly interestin­g cars we’d love to see at Motorclass­ica, so we’d view additional interest very favourably,” Motorclass­ica event director Paul Mathers admitted.

The popularity of this premier event is evident by the record number of entries, including the very best cars and motorcycle­s from the region, submitted for considerat­ion to be displayed at the seventh staging of Motorclass­ica.

A few of the many attraction­s include an actual prototype Bristol 401 coupé with a Touring body; an ultra-rare Monteverdi 375; and, seldom seen outside Italy, a Vespa 400 microcar.

There will also be a rare opportunit­y to view an impressive line-up of 17 classic Rolls-royce motor cars — the earliest, a 1913 Silver Ghost London-to-edinburgh Continenta­l, and the most recent, a 1927 Corniche convertibl­e — as well as two other Silver Ghosts, a 1923 40/50 formerly owned by Archbishop Mannix, one of the most influentia­l public figures in 20th-century Australia, and
