When you mention the words ‘car club’, it often conjures up images of middle-aged men in tweed caps, puffing on pipes, with their head under the bonnet in pub car parks. Well, the TVR Car Club New Zealand does some of that (perhaps not the tweed caps and pipes bit), but the club is more about TVR fans and owners — past, present, and future — sharing stories, technical know-how, buying advice, photos, events, and general banter about everything TVR.

Club president and TVR guru Jim Gamsby organizes a Sunday meet once a month in Auckland, and the club has an annual gettogether at the Brit and Euro Classic Car Show in Pakuranga (next on March 3, 2019).

Recently, TVR turned 70, and a few members caught up for a drive through to Port Waikato via Hampton Downs raceway to celebrate. The club is also planning to get a group together for the Leadfoot Festival early next year.

For more information, or to get in touch, contact Jim Gamsby at A growing TVR owners and enthusiasts online community has also been set up. Search ‘NZ TVR Owners & Enthusiasts’ on Facebook.
