Feedlot filling up fast
BURNETT Livestock and Realty’s meatworks and store sale held on Monday saw a yarding of 1712 head.
Due to the hot and dry weather conditions the feedlot pens are filling up fast and the processors are winding down their bookings in anticipation for the Christmas/New Year break.
In the meatworks section bullocks and cows sold to a firm to dearer market while store cattle sold to cheaper rates.
Bullocks sold for a top of 310c/kg; cows over 500kg topped at 242c/kg; cows 400-500kg sold topping at 230c/kg.
Trade heifers over 400kg topped at 275c/kg.
Maitland Bros, Boompa, sold four and six tooth limousin cross bullocks for 284c/kg, $1629.
I&L Lawer, Biggenden, sold four tooth droughtmaster bullocks for 290c/kg, $1480.
WR Staib, Coalstoun Lakes, sold six tooth santa heifers for 252c/kg, $1306.
J&T Anderson, Bundaberg, sold brahman cross cows for 242c/kg, $1344.
D&K Harrison, Bundaberg, sold charbray cows for 241c/kg, $1531.
Feeder steers 400-500kg topped at 342c/kg.
Steers 300-400kg sold to 354c/kg.
Steers 200-300kg sold to 382c/kg.
G&KE Blowers, Munna Creek, sold milk and two tooth charolais cross steers for 340c/kg, $1579.
L&V Palmer, Gayndah, sold milk tooth droughtmaster steers for 331c/kg, $1731.
A&M Isler, Theodore, sold a magic line of santa charbray No 6 steers for 342-349c/kg or $1261-1399.
RC Greggery, Gayndah, sold santa weaner steers for 384c/kg, $741.
Thomby Cattle Co, Theodore, sold a tremendous line of brahman cross steers from 328-382c/kg, $664-943.
Heifers 300-400kg sold topping at 345c/kg.
Heifers 200-300kg topped at 346c/kg.
B&JA Warrell, Mt Perry, sold milk tooth crossbred heifers for 328c/kg, $1001.
A&M Isler, Theodore, sold a spectacular line of santa gertrudis cross No 6 heifers from 335-344c/kg, $1039-1228.
B&D Jensen, Bucca, sold brangus cross weaner heifers for 346c/kg, $680.
Cattle were drawn from Theodore, Tansey, Goomeri, Murgon, Monto, Tiaro, Bauple, Eidsvold, Mundubbera, Mt Perry, Gayndah, Maryborough, Hervey Bay, Childers, Bundaberg, South Kolan, Bucca, Rosedale, Lowmead, Miriam Vale, Gin Gin, Booyal and all local areas.
Next meatworks and store sale will be November 21.
SOLD: Burnett Livestock and Realty’s Lance Whitaker with a pen of charbray heifers on account of AG & MF Isler, Theodore. The heifers sold for 344.2c/kg or $1228/head.
