Plumb sis­ters ahead of pack

DALE Plumb is a house­hold name in show cir­cles but he has been tak­ing sec­ond place to his daugh­ters at the Royal Ade­laide Show.

“They love it and they work hard but this groom­ing bit for two girls is wear­ing me out,” he said.

“I would rather ride but we are happy that they are do­ing well.”

Poppi Plumb, 10, was awarded the cham­pi­onship for ju­nior rid­ers and rode Ea­gle Park Casino to win re­serve cham­pion show hunter un­der 12.2hh.

Daizi Plumb, 14, took out the small pony cham­pi­onship on her fa­ther’s 12–12.2hh DP Lady Di. She also rode Harry and Ri­ley Beckel’s Oak Park Rock ‘n’ Roll to win the class for rid­den shet­land ponies.

Corinne Collins and An­drew James’ Hud­son Ni­cola was cham­pion hack­ney pony and Elsa Avery’s Welsh Cob Cross­wynds Our Brenin was re­serve non-hack­ney gal­loway.

Rom­sey Park Sta­bles’ Chip­pen­ham Tales won best novice sad­dle pony and open pony 13.2–14hh.

Danyel and Ni­cole Reimer’s Gran­deur Sweet­heart won novice and open pony 12hh and un­der.
