Driver caught without licence off road longer
DISQUALIFIED driver Neil Howett was caught behind the wheel of a car in Burnett Heads despite being disqualified by a court for two years.
Howett, 33, pleaded guilty in Bundaberg Magistrates Court to driving when disqualified at 10.45pm on August 29.
Prosecutor Senior Constable Tina Bland, said he had been disqualified by court order for two years back in March.
His car number plates were seized and his car for seven days.
Howett said: “I don’t really have anything to say. I know I shouldn’t have been driving.”
Magistrate Belinda Merrin accepted there had been some emotional issues in his life but told him he was still not permitted to drive.
Howett was fined $1000 and disqualified for another two years.
