SOFTBALL: Hervey Bay Softball Association’s larger playing base has led to its first representative trials.

The inclusion of three Bundaberg-based clubs – The Waves, Brothers United, and Bargara – has resulted in a vast increase in players at the association.

It means that this Sunday, Hervey Bay will need representative trials for the first time, with the best under-15 male and female players to compete for spots at Brothers Sports Complex in Bundaberg.

Hervey Bay Softball Association president Donna Jenkins said it was easier for the association to host trials in the Rum City with most players from those three Bundy clubs.

Joy McPherson will coach the U15 boys, with Di Phillips the U15 girls coach.

The trials run from 9am.
