10 held on porn party charges

TEN for­eign­ers charged with pro­duc­ing porno­graphic photos dur­ing a party near Cam­bo­dia’s famed Angkor Wat tem­ple com­plex have de­nied wrong­do­ing, a pros­e­cu­tor says.

How­ever, Siem Reap pro­vin­cial pros­e­cu­tor Sam­rith Sokhon said there was “enough ev­i­dence to prove they vi­o­lated the law and there­fore they must face charges”.

Five peo­ple from the UK, two from Canada and one each from Nor­way, the Nether­lands and New Zealand were charged on Sun­day.

Po­lice said they raided a rented villa last Thurs­day and found the for­eign­ers “danc­ing porno­graph­i­cally” dur­ing what or­gan­is­ers called a pub crawl.

Al­most 90 for­eign­ers were de­tained, be­fore all but 10 were re­leased.

They were charged with pro­duc­ing porno­graphic pic­tures, which the pros­e­cu­tor said were later posted on so­cial me­dia.
