Innocent man freed after 20 years
A COURT in the US has freed a man who spent 20 years in prison for second-degree murder. Larry McKee, 47, had been serving a sentence of 24 years to life for the shooting death of Theodore Vance, 29, in New York. According to new evidence uncovered by the Bronx District Attorney’s Office during a review of the case, Mr Vance, who was bleeding to death, told a witness he saw “a Spanish guy”. The evidence was not shared with Mr McKee’s defence team. Mr McKee (pictured) is black. His indictment has been dismissed and there will be no new trial.
