Learn about ghost nets
THE WA Museum has a Ghost Net Zone at Clarkson’s Ocean Keys Shopping Centre this week.
The information panels aim to teach people about ghost nets, which are discarded fishing nets, and the threats they pose, as well as marine conservation.
Throughout the week, an artist will transform nets into a piece of art on the reef inside the zone and people can join in, making sea creatures from marine debris.
When the installation is complete, it will form part of the Voyage to the Deep: Underwater Adventures exhibition at the WA Maritime Museum in Fremantle.
The zone will be in place until June 25.
