SWASHBUCKLING pirates will commandeer the Sprout Hub in Alkimos this Saturday for the launch of a business.

Pyjama Drama North West Perth will launch on September 23 with a pirate party for children aged up to seven.

Franchise manager Eleanor Mulder, of Tapping, said the event would include two interactive pirate shows where children can learn to talk like pirates, sail the seven seas, have fun with jungle animals and find buried treasure.

“There’s no need to register – community members can turn up on the day for the family fun, which also includes a Pyjama Drama session for baby pirates up to two years, themed face-painting, parachute games,” she said.

“Pyjama Drama offers drama and creative play classes for babies and children under seven years old.

“Igniting the imagination with drama games, sing-songs and roleplaying, the classes develop a child’s key social skills, such as concentration, co-operation, communication and confidence.”

Mrs Mulder said children could dress up as pirates for the party, although their teachers did not use props or costumes.

“Children have the most amazing imaginations, they role-play easily and naturally, and pretending is actually the way in which children make sense of the world around them,” she said.

The pirate party will run from 11am to 1pm at the Sprout Hub on Grasswren Way, Alkimos.

Pyjama Drama North West Perth can run classes at early learning centres, schools and parties between Carramar and Two Rocks.
