LIBRARY and heritage services volunteers have been recognised for their contributions to the City of Wanneroo.
The City hosted a dinner for the 77 volunteers to acknowledge their work with Buckingham House, Cockman House, the community history museum, Books on Wheels, Wanneroo Library and Cultural Centre and Wanneroo Gallery.
Cockman House guide Bev Bingham was among the eight people presented with a Volunteer Excellence Award on the night.
Other winners were Buckingham House volunteer Pam Wells; David Payne from Books on Wheels; Girrawheen and Clarkson libraries’ English conversation group volunteers George Belin, Wilke Clyde and Peter Meldrum; Tracey Graham for her community history support and gallery helper Christiane Rhodes.
Wanneroo Mayor Tracey Roberts said the City was grateful for their support.
“We are proud and humbled by the continued commitment our volunteers provide to our residents, and events like these give us a chance to acknowledge their outstanding service,” she said.
“On behalf of our residents, I would like to extend a very big thank you to each volunteer who gives their time so selflessly, making a lasting difference to our community.”
