Break­ing down ac­cess bar­ri­ers

CHILD­CARE providers can ap­ply for fund­ing to help break down bar­ri­ers that may pre­vent dis­ad­van­taged and vul­ner­a­ble fam­i­lies ac­cess­ing early learn­ing ser­vices. Ap­pli­ca­tions for the $124 mil­lion Community Child Care Fund (CCCF) can be made at un­til Oc­to­ber 5. “The CCCF open com­pet­i­tive grant is de­signed to im­prove child­care par­tic­i­pa­tion and in­crease the avail­abil­ity of places, par­tic­u­larly in dis­ad­van­taged re­gional or re­mote com­mu­ni­ties,” Pearce MHR Chris­tian Porter said. “The CCCF will also as­sist these lo­cal child­care ser­vices that may be ex­pe­ri­enc­ing fi­nan­cial vi­a­bil­ity is­sues.”
