Sammys store ‘a good fit’
GOOD Samaritans Industries recently opened a secondhand goods store in Butler.
Senior retail operations manager Paige Lynam said store sites were chosen based on visibility, market demand for the area, convenience and accessibility for customers along with supported staff.
Ms Lynam said the Butler Boulevard location was a “good fit” for its visibility, open floor plan and proximity to public transport.
“Butler is a growing metropolis along the northern corridor of Perth which in the Monday to Wednesday: 9am-5.30pm Thursday: 9am-7pm Friday: 9am-5.30pm Saturday: 9am-5pm Sunday: 11am-5pm
past five years has seen its population grow by 37.5 per cent (Census data 2011, 2016),” she said.
“Our Butler store features a wide range of second-hand clothing, shoes, household goods, toys, linen and also a range of new essentials.”
The charity specialises in creating employment opportunities for people with disabilities and the opening of the Butler store provided four placements for people living with a disability plus four support workers.
The store has two donation bins for after-hours, or people can drop off items during opening hours.
“Large items can be arranged for collection by our staff by requesting a pick up on our website or by calling 1300 GOOD SAMMY,” Ms Lynam said.
