Free hearing tests available
THE Australian Hearing bus is stopping by Gingin District Community Resource Centre to offer free hearing checks and raise hearing health awareness this month.
Hearing loss is a prevalent issue in the community, with about 60 per cent of Australians over 60 suffering from some form of hearing loss.
Australian Hearing Morley manager Julie Faulkner said because age-related hearing loss developed gradually over time, it was common for people to be unaware their hearing was diminishing. “A hearing check is a quick and easy way to measure the sounds you can and can’t hear,” she said.
No appointment is necessary and hearing checks are available for anyone over 18 visiting the bus at the Community Resource Centre, 1A Lilly King Place, Gingin, between 9.30am and 2.30pm on November 22.
