Free hear­ing tests avail­able

THE Aus­tralian Hear­ing bus is stop­ping by Gingin District Com­mu­nity Re­source Cen­tre to of­fer free hear­ing checks and raise hear­ing health aware­ness this month.

Hear­ing loss is a preva­lent is­sue in the com­mu­nity, with about 60 per cent of Aus­tralians over 60 suf­fer­ing from some form of hear­ing loss.

Aus­tralian Hear­ing Mor­ley man­ager Julie Faulkner said be­cause age-re­lated hear­ing loss de­vel­oped grad­u­ally over time, it was com­mon for peo­ple to be un­aware their hear­ing was di­min­ish­ing. “A hear­ing check is a quick and easy way to mea­sure the sounds you can and can’t hear,” she said.

No ap­point­ment is nec­es­sary and hear­ing checks are avail­able for any­one over 18 vis­it­ing the bus at the Com­mu­nity Re­source Cen­tre, 1A Lilly King Place, Gingin, be­tween 9.30am and 2.30pm on Novem­ber 22.
