Key role for stu­dents in Life re­lay

A DOZEN stu­dents from a But­ler school helped set up this year’s Joondalup Wan­neroo Re­lay for Life .

The group of 12 Irene McCor­mack Catholic Col­lege stu­dents from years 9 and 10 helped the event com­mit­tee set up at Arena Joondalup on Oc­to­ber 20.

They helped with fenc­ing, bunt­ing, pre­par­ing the si­lent auc­tion tent and cook­ing a bar­be­cue lunch for the other vol­un­teers ahead of the Oc­to­ber 21-22 fundrais­ing event for the Can­cer Coun­cil.

About 100 teams took part in the 10th an­nual re­lay, rais­ing more than $287,000.
